I'm kind of curious how different TAYW would be if Joker and Akechi swapped places 🤔🤔🤔
There is actually a fic with the premise of Joker going back in time to persona 3. I haven't read if before but perhaps you would like to take a look!
I really enjoy the headcanon that p5!protag grew up Inaba, so if I were to personally swap the roles, it would require Akira to Know that Akechi grew up Iwatodai. So like, Akira wakes up in Inaba in 2009, goes "there's no time like the present to prevent Akechi from ruining his life", convinces his parents to let him live in the Iwatodai dorms, and encounters the Dark Hour/Goro that way. Akira's a year below Goro, so he'd have to intentionally encounter him like before and after school, which would be tricky haha. I imagine that once Akira joins SEES (probably in a similar vein to how Goro joined SEES), Akira would basically beg the Ikutsuki to do something about Goro's homelife and let him move into the dorms (Goro is deeply weirded out by this random intervention). Goro's characterization would be different too because he'd be way more fresh off his mother's death but still very like angry and mistrusting. Where in TAYM, Goro ran into Akira in Inaba and Akira was like "yay friend!" It would be the opposite, where Akira runs into Goro in Iwatodai and Goro would be like "don't talk to me." Eventually after they save the world akira would be like "welp i guess i should go back home, ken do you want to come with me" (because Akira would leave less in the spur of the moment and is better at this friendship thing than Goro was), and then Akira would drag Goro and Ken to Inaba and then the murders happen and Akira would be like "ACTUALLY LETS GO BACK TO IWATODAI" but its too late because Goro and Ken are both actively trying to solve the murders and Akira's like "guys,,,, no,,,,,."
I'm not really sure how Nyarly would factor into this. Would he still disguise himself as Akira's uncle but instead of being openly antagonizing just pretend to be Akira's uncle the entire time? Would he disguise himself as someone else? Nyarly initially pretended to be Akira's uncle because of his resemblance to Akira, because he knew it would get under Goro's skin. Maybe Nyarly pretends to be Goro's long lost uncle and then adopts him and sure initially Goro's like "where the heck were you" but over the years is like "slay an adult figure who cares about me this is crazy" and then Akira has to be like "no,,, he's super evil,,, noo,,,," I don't know. I'm also not really sure what Nyarly's motive would be since Akira has never really subscribed to the ending the world thing. Maybe he wants to corrupt a wildcard for funsies. Maybe he meant to send Goro back but his powers were weak so he accidentally sent Akira back and now he's super salty about the mistake.

Note
also i keep finding fics where the p5 protag is from either iwatodai or inaba but i keep imagining it would be hilariously fucked up if he lives in both places while shadow shit was going down
Joker just narrowly misses being the MC or on the MC's squad in 3 and 4 only to finally get caught with 5

The oldest confirmed Persona user (Boafu) is 33 years and 9 months older than the youngest (Sumi).
Tohru Adachi is just two years the Persona 2: Innocent Sin cast's junior.
Katsuya Suou is turning 50 next year (2023).
The only confirmed S.E.E.S. members that are not yet in their 30s (this 2022) is Junpei, Ken, and maybe Koromaru [if he's still around which I hope so].
Sojiro Sakura might be the same generation as the Persona 2: Eternal Punishment cast.
Ryotaro Dojima (1970) is the same generation as the P2:EP cast and is three years younger than Boafu, and three years older than Katsuya.
Reiji Kido's child is probably the same age as Ken Amada and the Phantom Thieves.
Please send in any additions or corrections! I'll edit this the list if necessary.

P4 & P5 Femc's, Suzume Asakawa & Rei Kurusu!
Info under cut
I wanted to try my hand at creating hypothetical femc's. Not like genderbends of the protagonists (though i always love seeing those), but entirely new characters with different personalities, kinda like Kotone Shiomi from p3p.
I had 3 main philosophies I tried to stick to when designing these gals; they should hypothetically be easy for the player to project themselves onto, they must have the opposite colour scheme of their male protag counterparts, & they must have the opposite personality of their male protag counterparts. Just like Kotone!
I'm kinda bad at explaining, sooo I'll just try to walk u through my design process. Let's start with Suzume!
for Suzume, since purple is the opposite of yellow, i decided to give her a purple colour scheme. Since purple is often associated with royalty, I thought she could be based on the himedere archetype in anime! & what else is the most himedere-hairstyle other than twin curls?
With her design now defined, I moved onto her personality. Im aware it's kinda a debate as to whether or not persona protags have personalities, but personally? i think they do, since they're characterised somewhat consistently across the animes/spin off games (chadrukami & joker having tons of troll dialogue options in p5 strikers come to mind as popular interpretations), so for the sake of making suzume more interesting, let's just say she has one.
Suzume is elegant, prideful, posh, regal, classy, vain, arrogant, & snooty. She takes a lot of pride in her appearance, & loves being the center of attention. Which, considering she's the leader of the investigation team, gives her the perfect excuse to continue stroking her massive ego
In the TV world, Suzume fights with a fencing sword. She accepts her role as the team leader very quickly, & leads her team in a way that can only be described as very.... um.... "authoritative". The best way I can describe her style of leadership is like this; she gets the investigation team to do most of the work beating up shadows, & then she swoops in to get the last hit & steals all the glory! She sucks so much, i love her <3
Suzume always strives to be the best at everything ever. She needs to be better than everyone around her, she always needs to win, because no one likes a loser. & if she's the best, most charming, charismatic, prettiest, & talented girl on planet earth, surely people will HAVE to like her, right? Surely, everyone will HAVE to turn to look at her.... right?
Despite how much she tries to hide it, underneath that perfect princess-like facade is a vulnerable & insecure girl who thinks she needs to be perfect all the time to make up for how unspecial she truly is. She grew up alone & detached from everyone & everything around her, which caused her to be isolated from the world around her. She's basically just drifting through life until she arrives in Inaba. Her princess-like attitude is a mask she puts on to try & get people to pay more attention to her. In Suzume's mind, all attention is good attention. Doesn't matter if people think she's the sweetest angel on earth, or a huge bitch, so long as they look at her. So long as she sticks in their minds forever. So long as they never forget about her again.
Also, she sucks at cooking. Like, she's really bad. Cooking is the one skill she just cannot seem to perfect. She tries to hide how bad she is, to great comedic effect, but. People find out eventually. & uh... it may or may not end with the entire investigation team getting food poisoning. Suzume's cooking is so bad she makes Yukiko look like Gordon Ramsey by comparison.
Ok enough about her, let's move on to Reirei!
Green is the opposite of red, so while I deffo wanted her to be green, i didnt just want her to be green. I wanted her to have more colours so that she wouldn't look too boring. So, I decided that the secondary colour could be pink! This gives her the spring colour palette, which I think fits her very well. I know pink is already one of Kotone's colours, but hey, surely she wouldn't mind sharing. it is caring, after all
Rei has basically the same backstory as the og protag. She was a normal girl, living a normal life, until she was arrested & falsely accused of assault for protecting a woman from a violent drunkard. But the difference between Rei & Ren is in how they cope with being sent away on probation. While Ren puts on the mask of an unassuming, stoic, & shy boy who tries to avoid conflict, Rei has a different approach. She elects to completely lean into people's perception of her, & dons the mask of a tough, ruthless, cold-hearted delinquent. Her design is specifically inspired by sukeban fashion, which actually hasn't been seen since the 80s , but I thought it was fitting for Rei. Plus, I actually have a reason for why she dresses in an outdated fashion style.
The true Rei Kurusu is extremely shy. So shy she can barely talk louder than muttering. She's always been very socially anxious & hates putting herself in the spotlight. She used to hide her face behind long bangs to avoid looking people in the eyes, before she cut them to look more tough & unapproachable (she still mostly avoids eye contact though). Due to her immense shyness during childhood, she didn't have any friends. She grew up with a fairly limited view of the world, & as a result, is behind on a lot of modern trends. This is the kind of girl who only plays retro games on an old console, & who actually still thinks female delinquents in japan dress as sukeban. Yeah, she's kinda stupid. I still love her tho <3 my stupid little gal.
While her inability to look at people when they're talking may come off as rude, Rei doesn't mean any harm by it. She always tries to be nice & polite to everyone, even those who are mean to her, she just... can never seem to get over the hurdles of actually interacting with people beyond simple pleasantries. She always holds people at an arms distance, never wanting to let them in.
Anyways, her facade fools everyone save for only a few; her fellow Phantom Thieves. As the leader, Rei doesn't want to hog any of the spotlight or glory. She thinks the other members are far more skilled, strong, & talented than her, so her leadership style is basically to give orders from the back, while letting everyone else get their chance to shine. She's fairly hands off, only stepping up to the challenge if her team is really knocked down, forcing her to take over & finish off a Shadow with her shinai. Otherwise, her amazing teammates can handle it themselves.
Also, Rei constantly apologises for the smallest of things. Knocking a glass over, or stepping on someone's foot, or just slightly bumping into them, she's always quick to blurt out a "Sorry!" first, even if she's the one who got bumped. Doesn't really help her keep up her delinquent persona, though, so her classmates fairly quickly figure out that she's not actually that threatening. Deep down, she's actually just a really sweet dumbass. A female himbo, if that's even a thing that exists.
ok thats all bye

I HC that each persona protag is from the previous protag's game town starting with Persona 3.
So Makoto/Minato is from Sumaru City and moves to Tatsumi Port Island for the events of P3. Yu/Seta is from Tatsumi Port Island, and moves to Inaba for the events of P4. Akira/Ren is from Inaba and moves to Tokyo for the events of P5. My evidence is pretty slim, and if anyone's interested I can share it, but honestly I just like it for the narrative reason of like. Each Protag comes from the place the previous Protag affected so deeply. Like, tricksters beget tricksters or something. Like the trickster energy just hopped from the first protag to the body of the next like a virus or something.

Okay so like before I get into any writing, I want to talk about Shinji after the events of Persona 3, and into Persona ⅘ events ect ect to help people understand my portrayal a little bit since this blog is still under construction.
First things first, the canon ending for my portrayal is the Comatose Ending from P3P, meaning the whole social link with Minako and the pocket watch happened ( minus the dating. I don’t ship him romantically with the Protagonists, but I think he still could have been saved without the romance ect ect ).
After getting shot by Takaya, Shinjiro went into a coma for an entire year. If you’re wondering about the final battle, and how Shinji speaks to the protag when going one on one with Nyx, it’s because of Castor, and his connection with Minako/Minato, he was essentially watching that whole thing during his coma, as if he were dreaming. His soul was there during that fight to help. He was there, despite his body being in the hospital.
When he comes to, a year later, he’s aware the protagonist is gone. He has his own feelings about it, but over all, he knows what was done was for the right reasons. What he doesn’t know are the events of FES & The Answer, as he was in his coma during that time.
Shinji is 19 when he wakes up from his coma. He ends up finishing high school, so he can go to culinary school and get away from everything for a while. At this time, he had custody over Ken Amada ( @sociallinked ) and ended up opening a restaurant in Iwatodai, simply called ‘Aragaki’s’ as he couldn’t be bothered to think of anything more interesting. It’s successful, becomes the talk of the city eventually, and Shinji finds himself quite relatively busy since his restaurant is generally packed. It’s a small space, Ken helps him around with the place sometimes. He’s the head chef with his small staff helping around ( probably no more than 5 ppl including himself and Ken ) Shinji would be 22 with his own bustling business ( yea I know he should be 20 during the events of P4A and for my own portrayal I say no, bc Shinji is my oc now and this lore is mine and Aki and Mitsuru DO NOT LOOK 20, DO NOT LOOK AT ME. )
During the events of P4/P4A, Shinji has gone to Inaba a few times to get some things he can’t get in Iwatodai for his business. He has felt something off there—but keeps to himself when he tends to visit. With P4A, he is ( reluctantly ) part of the Shadow operatives, as well. He’s more focused on his own business and raising Ken and taking care of Koromaru, however, he will help them out when it’s needed.
I have to go over @foolshoujo p5 verse again before I can put it in here bc I coordinated Shinji’s P5 verse to that. Stay tuned.

For the ask game, Persona series!
I'm gonna guess you mean the entire series for this and not any game in particular.
3 male characters I love:
Ren Amamiya, I honestly could not tell you why I adore him so much. Y'know sometimes you just get a favourite character for inexplicable reason but they just make you so happy and can brighten up your whole day? Yeah, that's him.
Minato Arisato, I've been replaying P3 recently and ooh boy I forgot how special this boy was. Kinda makes me sad how he tends to get boiled down to 'the emo protag' because no, he's so much more.
Yosuke Hanamura, yeah there's time I wanna smack him upside the head but this boy's special to me for personal reasons to do with when I first played the game. Although it is painful how much he reminds me of my thirteen year old self. It is genuinely like "Oh geez that's me 😬"
3 female characters I love:
Maya Amano, c'mon you gotta love Maya. From her clothes, to her terrible driving skills, to the state of her room, to her positive attitude, everything about her is great.
Nanako Dojima, I had to, okay? It's Nanako. I don't need to explain this one, I know you understand.
Haru Okumura, I just love her so much. She's prim and proper, she's a comforting presence, she's badass, she's adorable, she's terrifying... She's the whole package.
3 romantic ships I love:
TatsuJun (Tatsuya Suou x Jun Kurosu), these two just give me so many emotions. Not to mention, they're somehow so melodramatic and tragic but awkward and dorky at the same time.
SouYo (Souji Seta/Yu Narukami X Yosuke Hanamura) the epitome of "fellas is gay to smooch your homie?". But in all seriousness, I am still very bitter that his romance route was removed.
AkeShu (Akira Kurusu/Ren Amamiya x Goro Akechi), not really surprising, this one has been tormenting me almost non-stop since Royal. How can two boys be so in sync with each other and yet so completely useless at expressing their emotions at the same time?
3 platonic dynamics I love:
Tatsuya, Eikichi, and Jun. I mean... Their demon negotiation tactic is forming a band and performing for them. Gotta love that.
Minako and Junpei, something I really liked about P3P is that Junpei seemed to have a lot more of a 'bro' relationship with the femc instead of the mc and I just love the potential chaos that comes from that.
Ren and Futaba, chaotic gremlin siblings. Need I go on?
3 favorite moments in canon:
This is more of a joke one but I still love it: Tatsuya pushing Katsuya out of a blimp to avoid talking about his problems in Eternal Punishment. It's hilarious and the possibility of seeing that in P5 graphics is a very big reason why I want the original trilogy remade.
The Ending of Persona 3, I won't go into any specifics because if you know, you know and hey, it's only a week away... I'm still not prepared for the flood of art to crush my soul... But seriously, so beautiful and poignant and it really helped me through some stuff.
In a similar vein, the final fight with Maruki in Royal. Just what the fight represents and how he reacts afterwards gets me every time.
3 favorite headcanons:
I love the headcannon that Minato and Minako are twins instead of just the male and female protags of the game. It's just a lot of fun to think about.
I love the headcannon that Ren's from Inaba because he was mentioned to be a country bumpkin in the game and it ties very nicely back to P4.
For some reason, it's a lot harder to think of headcannons for an entire series of games as apposed to focusing on a single game so I'll leave it here for this one.
3 least favorite things about it:
Just the treatment of certain types of characters... You know what I mean: female characters, LGBT characters, fat characters, etc... It gets reeeeeaaalllll old after a while and tbh wasn't even funny in the first place.
The writing can be kinda wishy-washy, if that makes sense? For example, in P4 they backtrack on quite a few characters stories, such as Yukiko, Kanji, Rise and Naoto. And in P5, they go back on their logic as well, such as viewing Kamoshida as disgusting for going after students and then giving you the option to date your homeroom teacher? It doesn't make sense.
The fact that Atlus keeps ignoring P1&2, even when they are including in things by shoving them to the back and focusing on 3,4&5, yes I am still bitter how the 25th anniversary barely had anything for the games that started it all.

top 5 persona games
obligatory take list w a grain of salt bc idk anyth abt p1 and 2, im playing 3 fes, and my only exposure to p4g and p5 vanilla has been through streams
1. p4g. it means so much to me. i love the feeling of inaba so much, im a sucker for small town stories. yu is my fav protag solely bc of the heavy lifting done by the anime. it has adachi in it. everything about it is so meticulously laid out from character backstories to personas to mythos. i even dont mind teddie
2. p3 fes. yeah yeah is good. ive only gotten to july when ken joins, but i rly do enjoy the dungeon crawling. i love when i havent saved in an hour and die 🙃 bur srsly i do genuinely enjoy tartarus grinding?? yeah idk. i love the overall msg of the game and it kinda runs parallel to that of p4's so ofc theyre honestly grouped together in my head
3. p5s. OK I KNOW it is kind of a hot take to put STRIKERS over royal but as i said before i havent seen any content about royal other than story spoilers so i can do this. strikers is like The spin-off. it takes the time to focus on charas who got shafted in the main story + develops 2 very good new charas. obv i like zenkichi ok but yeah i tgink the game is really solid and cute so i like it:) and im sorry but i adore the music of strikers SO much more than i do vanillas ost. COUNTERSTRIKE IS SO GOOD?
4. p4au. yeah idk idc abt fighting games but the lore is so :) i love that they actually decided to outline the lives of the p3 cast post-p3. and i desperately Desperately want them to commit with p4 as well. im SO mad p5a never became a thing. but yeah just seeing p3 cast + "woah a white guy!" + everything about adachi (again sorry) + the narukami cover art (sorry as well)
5. p5 vanilla. yeah p5 is still Good, but after p3 and p4 where everything about every character is so inherently connected to the themes of the game, p5 does fall short for me. there are just so many little discrepancies that are like :// this can be improved you know!! so yeah, while i do enjoy the phantom thieves and the overall story of p5, all my nitpicks add up.
honorable mention to p4d bc the dancing game did not have to go that hard! it did NOT have to have an actual story focused on rise (its really evident that the p4 team's fav member is rise huh) nor deliver so flawlessly on the ending. i genuinely GENUINELY watch the reach out to the truth music video every now and then for fun!! and when im stressed i literally watch narukami's dance! dance. also simply they didnt havebto go that hard for dance! its actually my fav persona song. other honorable mention is p3d i know it is a soulless cash grab like p5d but unlike p5d it actually takes the time to put as much storytelling into its broader range of songs. every makoto fever time ☹️

you know, I should just... write down my thoughts about the timeline of events for the "akira is from inaba" hc/au. Why not? It could help me write it!
.... Warning for long post. I am on Mobile. My thoughts tend to draw on. Apologies!
4-5 years of knowing a group of people is definitely enough to have them considered close friends! So if Akira met one of the Investigation Team, and then was suddenly pulled into their little group (+Nanako), becoming a part of it for 4-5 years? Yeah, Akira would be close to them.
Akira was, at first, a little bit starstruck by Risette and the First Detective Prince being his friends... and then the 4-5 years went by and now its like a side note. "Oh yeah, Rise's Risette. Forgot that through her spicy-ass meals and doting tendencies." "Oh yeah, Naoto's basically like my strict parents who bends the rules sometimes. Forget they're the first Detective Prince."
Nanako is like the little sister Akira never had. So, naturally, Akira is now Souji's little brother in the friend group.
When Akira is put in Tokyo for probation, Akira is supposed to not interact with anyone from his hometown, because they might've been bad influences... but! Souji isn't from Inaba, is he? Hmmm? (Naoto scolds Akira for this... but doesn't tell him to stop contacting them, because everyone knows the trial against Akira was Bogus)
Akira will share cat pictures of Morgana. Souji saves them. "Cat people," sighs the persona groups
"Haha where's the Junes Mascot" "Junes doesn't have a mascot???" "????? what"
When Ann finds out he knows Rise (via him texting her one day about fashion and her looking over his shoulder and seeing a selfie of Rise Herself in some casual gear), she freaks out a bit and also freaks out Ryuji by proxy. Akira has to think for a few moments before going "oh... riiight, duh, friend is also an idol."
Akira, interacting with Akechi: i think the OG Detective Prince not only is smarter, but also cooler in general and is a great friend
Akira, in an act of wanting to share what he does to the people he trusts most and fueled by being Tired As Fuck, asks if anybody knows about Persona. Instead of the reactions he expected ("is that a game?" "Like the psychology theory?" "huh?"), he gets very, very worried messages sent his way and his older friends correctly guessing that he is a phantom thief and their methods are Persona Related. And gets confused by references of TVs from some of them.
Yep, his older friends are Persona users. Explains a lot, he thinks, as he brings up incidents in his head of burning himself on Yukiko's skin (like he has Ann's), of hanging around Chie and Yosuke to cool down (like he has seen Futaba do with Yusuke), and just goes "oh how did i not connect those dots sooner"
He keeps it a secret from his team because they don't need to know there are more persona users other than them (and Akechi).
Naoto does offer to have Rise, Souji, and themself to help out, but Akira insists on doing this journey alone. Souji agrees tentatively, but says "hey, Akira, if you ever feel like you're in over your head, tell us, we can help"
(Akira doesn't take him up on the offer.)
As Futaba joins the team, he recognizes the method in which she got her Persona was actually similar to how his older friends described how they got their Personas. So he guesses that the palace treasure was her shadow right away when the tomb is empty, and bolts as soon as they discover this fact.
Akira now has two younger sisters: Nanako and Futaba. He wants to introduce them when everything is over, they'd get along over Feathermen and other shows of that nature.
"How the hell do you have a signed copy of a pink argus poster?? Most of the signed copies are cities away from here!" "... y'know, good question. I got it from my older... friends... okay gimme a sec I suddenly have to ask them something" And thus Akira found out his older Persona friends were friends with Yukari Takeba personally.
"How... Is it related to Persona stuff?" "yes." "what the fuck?"
Akira doesn't tell them about the velvet room, because surely they havent experienced that. He is wrong, but he's thinking in terms of how he's interacting with it, not in terms of wild card shit doing with the velvet room.
Things go on pretty much normally, except Akira is contacting his older friends every now and then and getting Persona Advice and telling them about how his Persona Adventures are going.
He doesn't tell them about Akechi. That's a Thief Thing, and he doesn't want Akechi to catch onto those other persona users he's interacting with... Just only that they're his friends. (Like with Hifumi and other confidants.)
Persona Q2 is when Akira's knowledge of the other groups of Persona Users gets forced to the front. Luckily, nobody remembers PQ2. Yay!
When Akira hears the name of the second movie, he's like "wait". And then he puts his fake gun to Souji's sword, recognizes Souji, and goes "HEY WAIT" and the phantom thieves are confused as Akira leaps into explaining stuff to his older friends' younger self and also goes "oh yeah we are definitely time traveling in some form"
Shame nobody remembers, Akira and Souji would laugh about wielding a gun as a sword.
After PQ2, Worrying Plan Time. When news gets out that the PThieves leader died, the IT have to actively restrain themselves from going to Tokyo and finding the person who killed him. In the end, Kanji is very close to just deciding "to hell with it, imma run to tokyo," when the group chat pings and it's Akira, saying he's fine but also laying low because his plan worked. Cue 8 worried persona users asking why he didn't ask for their help. Oops.
"Igor doesn't have a deep voice??" "... I should've guessed you were the wild card. Wait. Of course Igor doesn't- what happened to Igor??"
the IT, looking at the sky one xmas eve: hey what the fuck?
After That...
"did you fight a god" "How the hell did you know?" "persona user journey tradition we guess??"
Blah blah getting Akira out of juvie blah blah Akira's back in Inaba now
When the IT are told that, yeah, the cat was a Persona User, they just sigh and go "figures." They then tell him about a dog Persona User, which... Yeah, makes Akira question how that happened. They say they'll explain it later. "When is later?" "When our Persona Friends visit" "h...huh?" "We'll bring you, and if your friends are okay with it, we'll bring them. We're secretive about our meetings."
His friends come over to Inaba to see him, and they get roped into being introduced to Akira's older friends- and, yes, told about them being Persona Users. Chaos and questions ensue.
When someone (probably Rise or Yosuke) mention Mitsuru Kirijo as a really notable (and scary) persona user, things get more crazy. The IT promises to bring the PT to the meeting.
... That's it, I would think!

This is where I am putting my posts for my creative writing stuff like aus or original works.
My main account is @jester-writing
Ocs
aus i have here:
Pokemon legends: Arceus/persona 5 crossover au
a persona 5 retelling au with rei as the protagonist
PLA frequency au
Ingo gets yeeted with a radio that is magically connected to the future and more specifically to Johanna (dawn/Akari's mom). they have to work together to make sure Dawn/ Akari doesn't die. timey wimey bs happens
PLA pirate au (somehow this got mixed with dnd)
heavily inspired by JRWI: riptide. Pearl clan are pirates (but don't exactly know what pirates are). Diamond clan is Navy. Galaxy Clan is neutral. Rei is the protag and got isekai'd to the world of hisui and turned into a seal (selkie) by a crab (Arceus)
pokemon/Magnus archives crossover au
post mag-200 au where as the Fears are being spread out into the multiverse, they accidentally get snagged on Akari getting taken to hisui. Arceus notices and tries shaking them off, but that only results in separating Jon and Martin, with jon landing in hisui alongside Akari and Martin landing in Gear Station in modern day.
(also annabelle cane and oliver banks also came along landing in Cogita's house and Modern galar respectively)
the fears are anchored in this world by the Red Sky Incident
au where i put a bunch of funky podcast people in a p5 au
self explanatory read the post to see more details
Mechanism Ingo au
Ingo becomes a mechanism after a zoroark attack thanks to Dr. Carmilla being nearby at the time. he goes on adventures with the mechanisms. plays the cello
(also Gunpowder Tim may or may not be AZ)
Mechanisms/p5 crossover au(s)
not too detailed ideas
Experiment au (pokemon)
easily my most self indulgent au yet
notice there is body horror in this one
but also fluff
mad science, main ones to blame being Colress, sada, and turo (i love those two but they're evil here) , happens resulting in some people becoming hybrids of pokemon.
trauma abound for everyone
people affected in order: Oliver(Ditto)(he's an oc), Atticus (ditto), Arven(ditto), Akari (eevee), Rei(Honchkrow), Hop(Corviknight), (time passed to next group), Hilda (serperior), Nate(Braviary), and Emmet(eelektross/ a bit of galvantula), (skip to different group), Juliana(Miraidon)(i made enough personality changes that she's now an oc), nemona (slither wing), and Penny (iron moth)
surprising amount of ships (don't ask me when it happened, I don't know)
ghost hand au (totk)
when Link gets his arm cut off and replaced with raruu's, it's a bit ghostly
aka only he and the sages can see it and he can't physically touch things with it
he can still use the abilities though
Origins au (pla)
pla characters suddenly got Origins from the origins mod for minecraft. except for kamado. he's normal
Au where joker (p5) is a Mechanism. (P5 Mechanisms crossover au)
He's an immortal alien, and has never aged past 16 since he was mechanized.
persona and remedyverse crossover au
Dark place is a thing like Metaverse or tv world. Mr. Scratch is a corrupted version of Alan's Shadow. The Treasures are Objects of Power. Christmas eve was a AWE.
Welcome to Inaba au
au where Inaba from persona 4 is basically Night Vale
The tag for this au is #welcome to Inaba au
Wixie in hisui au
I threw two of my modded minecraft ocs, Arthur and Sigyn(the wixie in question) , into pokemon legends Arceus for fun
The tag is #Wixie in hisui au
feel free to ask questions about these. The inbox is always open for questions

Protags by level of Chosen One vibes
1. Minato/Minako Arisato
What are the chances for a robot and the personification of Death to fight just as your family is crossing a bridge near them? The plot of Persona 3 depends almost entirely on the actions taken by Minato/Minako.
They "answer a call" to Iwatodai, they have the potential (whether this is because of their natural talent or because they have Death inside them is anybody's guess), they are immediatly chosen as the leader despite the fact they're one of the newest members, Ryoji gives them the final say in the matter of killing him and it's only them IN THE ENTIRE WORLD with the power to seal Nyx away as a Messiah for humanity... a destiny prophecy would only have been a formality.
Yeah, these ones are Chosen Ones, alright.
2. Akira Kurusu
Instead of being chosen by destiny, this boy was chosen by a higher being. Yaldabaoth elected him and Akechi from the millions of teens in the world to play his rigged game. Everything was ready waiting for Akira to awaken his Persona and confront Akechi. Fated rivals and all that.
Being the one to deliver the final blow to his puppeteer was a plus, not to mention the fact that antagonists have a habit of offering Akira a seat at their table, whether it's as an accomplice, an enforcer or a right hand man. World defining choices, I may add.
Since odds don't matter to Chosen Ones, Akira will confront the man who put him in prison while on his probation.
3. Yu Narukami
Yu wasn't such a Chosen One as the last two, but he sure was elected out of every person who came to Inaba. Not because of who he was, but because of what he could represent.
Again, a rigged game but one not so supervised as P5. The Chosen One aura does linger on Yu. It's mostly a matter of parental pressure and internalized issues that make Yu such a "flawless" person rather than a mystical destiny. Izanami could have chosen Yosuke since he also came to Inaba recently. Naoto could have solved the mystery since she was so close to the answer. Adachi could have slipped and revealed himself on accident to another person.
All of the coincidences in Yu's life make his situation so ridiculous most people could confuse him for a Chosen One.
4. Maya Amano
The fact that she is mentioned in a prophecy ranks her higher than the other two. Unfortunately for Maya, her role in the Oracle of Maia is more Sacrificial Lamb than Chosen One. It was Maya who chose to join Tatsuya's Scooby Doo gang; she could have stayed still where she stood, not contributing anything to the story, and died anyways. Not to mention, that the last spots in this ranking didn't even have the Velvet Room for themselves, but shared it with their entire team.
Maya's role as the final nail in the Oracle of Maia does give her some Chosen One points, which would serve her better during Eternal Punishment. Once more, it were the choices of others (P2IS kiddos) the ones who would make her the protagonist of the next game, not some predetermined fate. The story starts with Tatsuya literally bumping into her by accident.
It was mostly Nyarly's fault that her group of friends ended up in the middle of everything anyways, and it wasn't even supposed to be lile that. Nyarly only wanted Jun to do the dirty work and Maya to die so that Jun would be easier to manipulate. P2? More like Nyarly tries to kill Maya saga.
5. Tatsuya Suou
See above for the chances of the Masked Circle to be the main group. Honestly, Jun is more of a Chosen One that either Maya or Tatsuya. Jun is Anakin while Tatsuya is stuck as Obi-Wan. Could have been anyone in his spot but it turned out that this was better for the main villain, so... up you go, buddy. Now go suffer so I can manipulate your bestie.
The choice to reset the timeline wasn't given entirely to Tatsuya. It was a group decision taken in the heat of the moment by the OG Masked Circle. It was Jun's personal issues that made the Tatsuya gang a target for demons. Before IS, Nyarly couldn't have cared less about biker boi.
However, like Maya, Tatsuya's level of Chosen One augmented in Eternal Punishment. It still wasn't because Destiny Said So, though, mostly because he is stubborn as fuck.
6. Naoya Toudou
My boy Naoya was just chilling at school when shit got real. Every single student in the school could have been the ones to go after Kandori (and by any I mean you, Tamaki) but they were Naoya's friends the ones who decided to go. See: Naoya's friends. Not Naoya. He's here mostly because Maki is his childhood friend and, hey, all his friends are going.
It's also my belief that it was mostly a combination of Maki's reality and Naoya's trauma the ones that gave life to Kazuya/Naoya's shadow, not the fact that he played a key role in Kandori's plan or anything. It just happened.
It also comes to mind the fact that in the manga, Yuka and Yukino were already halfway through the Snow Queen quest when Naoya turned up. He became more extra support than vital piece.

yu’s depression manifests itself in a few different ways. i do believe he has clinical depression. during his p5 verse he is on prescribed medication for this but it’s a low dosage. he is suicidal. that is something that never leaves him. but he gets better at coping with it over time.
yu cries himself to sleep pretty regularly when he gets to inaba. after saving yukiko and things winding down, he starts to put together his parents really didn’t want him. unlike with the p5 protag who only gets a cardboard box of things sent with him. yu looks like he actually has everything he owned sent to dojima. it’s only a year. i doubt his parents sold their place in the city. everything yu has, down to his old school uniform, is in that room. that doesn’t make sense to pack and take all his belongings. unless of course, he wasn’t expected to come back. yu also knows english, french, spanish, and some mandarin. he’s well versed in multiple languages due to his parents working with different countries for their jobs. he will scream himself horse under water in the bath as a form of release from all the pent up frustration and emotions he feels.
he has a habit of grabbing hard at his upper-arms to where he can inflict bruising. thankfully, his shirts cover any sign of these things. his skin is incredibly fair and sensitive. he bruises easily and it does show up and doesn’t fade for some time. he will scratch at himself, raking his nails hard enough over his arms to inflict red lines. when he’s deeply frustrated, he’ll tug at his hair or rake his nails across his scalp. less of a depression response, but could fall into one because yu has very few noticeable tells when he’s distressed.
his health starts to take a noticeable decline. he starts eating less, if not eating at all, because he has no appetite. he starts to sleep more and more because he feels so exhausted and fatigued he doesn’t want to be awake. he’s much more sensitive to what people say. yu already has mood swings. but shifts in his personality start to appear a lot stronger. he’s never been emotionally stable, feeling so much less than those around him due to trauma and unable to identify emotions on himself. now they’re overwhelming and that exhausts him.
he tends to appear a lot more tired and wrung out. during winter his hair grew longer because he wasn’t keeping up with it. a very common symptom of people who suffer clinical depression is their inability to wash their hair. yu can do the rest of himself. but reaching up his arms to get at his hair feels impossible because of how little strength he seems to have to do it. his hair lost it’s attractive sheen because of this.
his personality takes on a few different changes. he is much more curt, less caring about what he says to people, and stops trying to put up the polite good boy act that people have familiarized themselves with. people are very aware of how devastating the incident with nanako and dojima was. but some of them just want yu to comfort them in the time he needs to focus on himself, when he can’t even take care of himself. i worry they believe that yu can handle anything because he’s always shown to be able to. that he’ll overcome this hurdle too and be the bright shining leader they know. yu is nothing like this. aside from how he’s beyond broken at this point in time, he has no energy to keep the mask up. his words can be truly awful and cutting and seem like they’re coming out of nowhere when in fact, yu’s always been like this. his tolerance is gone because he can’t be bothered to withhold his opinion.
there’s some things i’ve wondered if it could be ooc of him in the past. for example, when coming up to the door to confront adachi, yu starts poking at yosuke and remarking on the first time they came here with chie. it’s a joke, but it has a poor reflection on the other members of the group.
yu does not poke at yosuke.
yu teases yosuke. but he is never downright cruel and actually trying to humiliate him. that is so much more of a chie thing to do and it’s never a directly outright thing either. she’s just insensitive and she made up an image of who yosuke was and never saw beyond that character she created in her head. yeah, it’s messed up. but i do believe they could have a better relationship and she could be a better friend if yosuke could call her out and she could listen to him without getting riled up into another screaming match. but yu does not hurt yosuke like this. he does not say things like this to yosuke. but under stress, pressure, heavy depression, he took an out like everyone else often does toward yosuke. the animation shows yosuke brushing this off. but yosuke seems like he's forcing the reaction.
yu uses sex for bad coping. oh boy, dec 3rd is an ugly night if this was ever allowed to happen. while i feel like any of the girls would have stopped him. or yu would have stopped himself if it was naoto given how shy she is and how she would easily be the most uncomfortable about anything going anywhere. yukiko would slap him. chie would cry and yell at him. rise would push yu off of her. it’s implied yosuke and yu spent the night together with the animation having yosuke come back to yu at the hospital. yu would have stopped himself with yosuke when the thought crossed his mind, but it would have taken a lot in order to try and sleep and put the idea off.
nanako dying and coming back the next day is my canon and i’m not changing it. because i think it’s bullshit the game just has nanako coming back to life when there is so much that happened that night. it is so much more plot relevant that the characters feel the immense weight and crushing blow of nanako’s death. izanami’s going to bring her back the next day. her coming back right away is like a get of out jail free card and glossing how they almost killed a man up in that hospital room, glossing over how much pain her death caused everyone. we didn’t do it, guess she gets to live. they come back the next day, hear namatame’s story, and realize he is not the killer. all doubt is erased and the reward is nanako being alive. consistently, it makes more sense and i’ve always been really unimpressed with how the game does a rushed job on it when it makes so much sense to drag everything out and give the player the idea: this was much greater than anyone realized. this is the biggest plot-point of the game, the climax, you don’t rush the climax in your story. you let your reader feel how huge this is going to be and the falling effects that trickle down into your next point.
i’m not trying to add angst here and i don’t want to argue this either. i just don’t like how the game did it because it doesn’t feel realistic. also, dojima, could not be there when nanako woke up. he was heavily sedated, had his injuries reopen in the fall when he was struggling with the guards, and him being present eradicates the idea any of that happening. a nurse warned dojima he would suffer long-term compilations if he didn’t stay in his bed. that fall is going to make that a reality. it’s just sensible nanako didn’t come back until dec 4 and the pacing is fixed. no one would have been alone on dec 3. everyone would have gotten closer. chie and yukiko would have been together. the first years would have all been together. yu and yosuke would have been together. the animation has it’s problems but i do love it all at the same time. this is one of the big fixes i’m so glad they did because the hospital scene bothered me for a long time with the rush job they did on it. it makes yu’s pain so much more tangible too.

A fun question to ask sometimes with P4 and P5: What would the story of this game be like the timelines was shuffled so it would happen while the Dark Hour was a thing?
P4:
The Midnight Channel is now an hour-long program where, if you’re unlucky, you may actually see people die.
Finding Adachi and Namatame becomes a question of “Okay, who else is active at the moment?”
Probably everyone’s first Dark Hour is after they come out of the TV for the first time, with the exception of Protag who was very lucky his first night in Inaba was reserved for vague and terrifying Izanami dreams.
Really early on, Teddie just slips into the human world during the Dark Hour and now everyone has this empty costume to deal with.
The Iwatodai school trip becomes much more interesting. If the timing is particularly tragic, there could be a meeting with the Senpai Trio at their height.
After everything’s over, Protag makes his best effort to stay in Inaba, because the world is still turning green every midnight, and he does not want to get caught without a team.
Everyone on the Investigation Team is just really, really sleep-deprived.
P5:
The main appeal Akechi has to the Conspiracy is, as always, the ability to induce Apathy Syndrome on command.
Morgana has even more reason to have to physically force Akiren to get enough sleep. As a result, they’re the only two members of the group who aren’t incredibly sleep-deprived.
There are many questions about why the Shadows in Mementos and the ones in the Dark Hour are so different from each other, and no one has the answers to them.
At the same time, though, the Dark Hour is a medium that Shadow Futaba can make use of, once she learns that it exists.
Yusuke stays up late for a whole week to paint the Dark Hour and ends up falling asleep in at least one team meeting.
The instant Futaba figures out the myriad of uses of Plumes of Dusk, she immediately starts gathering them: Specifically, she asks Akiren to. He now spends even more time babysitting Caroline and Justine.
Maruki can’t actually make the Dark Hour go away, but he certainly gives it his best effort.

Hello, may I make a very Persona 4 quotes request? Can you do AU where the Investigation Team (excluding Teddie) instead of having Shadow selves they have to confront, have Persona 5 Style awakenings? Can you do make quotes of what their Shadows say to them in their heads before they tear off a mask?
Since Persona 5 has a completely different premise than Persona 4, this was really hard. I tried to stick to what was going on in the character’s lives, but for them to get a P5 style awakening, the game would need to have a different plot, the characters would need backstory changes, and the Palace rulers would be characters that don’t exist (with the exception of maybe Adachi, Namatame, and Mitsuo). These aren’t great, but they’re the best I could come up with. I hope they aren’t too cringy!
Rise
Tumblr media
The idol world is...not great in the Persona universe. Rise often implies that she was sexualized while working in the industry, and in Persona 4 Dancing she gets mad that idols are being treated as dolls rather than human beings. Dancing talks about how these girls are trained to create an entirely new persona because that’s what sells. That’s what people want to see. In this AU, Rise would be standing up to someone who represents the idol world.
“They only view you as something to be toyed with...To them, you’re nothing more than a beautiful doll...But I see the porcelain is starting to crack...Will you embrace the role of a marionette designed for the entertainment of others? Or will you cut the strings that tell you how to live?...Such passion... I am thou, thou art I...It is time you take back the throne.”
P4 Dancing gave me the idea of going with a doll theme. It also matched with the idea of being a marionette controlled by the idol world. The throne part is a reference to her Persona who was known for being a beloved queen.
Naoto
Tumblr media
Naoto knew she wouldn’t be respected as a detective because of who she is, so she pretended to be a boy. But as her Shadow said, no matter how mature she acts, she couldn’t pretend to be an adult. Naoto was still talked down to because of her age. The Inaba police found it insulting that a child was brought in to help them with their jobs. They didn’t care how many cases she solved or how many times she’s proved herself as a talented detective. They refused to look at her as a colleague. They also disliked her methods and acted as if they knew better. Although the Inaba Police aren’t the first people to act this way towards her, in this AU the Palace ruler Naoto is standing up to would be someone from the Inaba Police. The story takes place in Inaba, so that’s what makes sense to me.
“Are you done hiding behind the guise of the Detective Prince?...Are you done living a lie?...I see. Then let us forge a contract. I am thou, thou art I...With your skills and this power, you will finally reveal the secrets behind this case...No longer shall you hesitate, doubt, or deceive.”
Chie
Tumblr media
Chie doesn’t have anyone specific to stand up to, so I think her awakening would be similar to Ren’s. Like Ren, I think Chie would awaken to her Persona to protect another party member (I assume Yu, Yosuke, and Teddie) in whoever’s Palace they’re in. Chie’s whole thing is protecting people, so this idea actually fits pretty well.
“Your friends...They’re in danger...Will you stand there and watch?...Will you run away to protect yourself?...Or will you save the lives of those whom you hold dear...I thought as much...Very well...I am thou, thou art I...Accept this contract...Follow your heart.”
As for everyone else, I won’t be posting their awakenings. I did write them, but they kind of really suck. If you want to see what I came up with, DM me, and I’ll send them to you. Even though I won’t post their actual awakenings, I’ll talk about the concepts I used.
Kanji
I don’t know what the lead up to Kanji’s awakening would be. It depends on who the Palace ruler is and how it would relate to Kanji. Because of that, I wrote Kanji’s awakening similar to Makoto’s: less about who he’s standing up to and more about what he’s standing up to if that makes sense.
Yosuke
Yosuke would be standing up to someone who represents the people in Inaba who treat his family poorly or employees at Junes who take advantage of him. I took the taking advantage of route when I wrote it his awakening.
Yu
Since he’s the protag, Yu has to have his awakening at the start of the game, but I don’t think he has the “will of rebellion” then or most of Persona 4. There’s actually a few dialogue options Yu has stating that you shouldn't or can’t do anything to change the way things are. I still wrote an awakening though, and I centered it around people pleasing. Yu is very much a people pleaser, and it is extremely unhealthy. Although this awakening wouldn’t actually happen, I still wanted to figure something out for him, so that’s what I went with.
Yukiko
Unfortunately, I couldn’t come up with anything for Yukiko. My first instinct was to make her awakening about the inn, but nobody at the inn is forcing her to take it over. They kinda figured she didn’t want to, and they were fine with it. Everyone in town just assumed she would take it over, including herself.
I’m sorry this probably isn’t what you were looking for, but I tried my best. This was really hard, but it was cool getting such a unique ask!

Alright, so I got a brilliant spark of inspiration and now I’m here with another AU idea for Persona. I love supernatural AUs, and with Halloween around the corner, my mind is bursting with that energy.
So, a Persona AU where the main characters are (for the most part, there are so exceptions for plot reasons) some sort of magical being. Right now, I’m calling it Monsters and Magic. Might change. Who knows?
Here’s the rundown on some of the basics of the AU. If enough people like it, I might go in depth with the characters. But that’s another post for another time. Anyway, let’s go!
Some general world rules:
The world is seperated into two different sort of factions: Mortal and Non-Mortal. The Mortals are comprised solely of humans, simple as that. And that means, obviously, the Non-Mortals are everybody else. Witches, werewolves, vampires, etc. Due to past history, the two worlds are to remain as separate as possible and result in the Non-Mortals following a strict code of rules in order to keep Mortals from finding out the truth and freaking the heck out. Because you know... humans.
All Non-Mortals have something called a Magical Core that makes them who they are. Each Non-Mortal can do magic to some extent, with others being more in tune with their core than others. Witches are the most in-sync with their core, and as a result can use their magic to the fullest extent.
The witches are responsible for helping the Non-Mortal community hide amongst the Mortal. They cast enchantments on small items that a Non-Mortal wear in order to conceal their true appearance. They can be some sort of charm or a piece of jewelry. Something that goes unnoticed by the general population. These have become rather expensive with time, so most Non-Mortals tend to just hide themselves in more simple manners if they can (make-up, hats, certain types of clothing, etc.)
Either way, the Non-Mortal and Mortal Worlds remain seperate for the most part. Emphasis on the most. With the modern age, it’s not uncommon for a Non-Mortal to have some Mortal blood. Ann Takamaki and Goro Akechi are examples of this. (Ann’s 1/4 human, Akechi’s half.) Most humans that enter relationships with Non-Mortals are usually extremely trustworthy folk. They are also subjected to tests by Non-Mortals in order to prove their trustworthiness, but this practice is starting to die out.
While most Non-Mortals live in Mortal cities and towns (Iwatodai and Tokyo are examples of this), there are settlements that are strictly Non-Mortal, where they are free to be themselves and live without fear. They are typically small towns, those kinds of places where no one visits. This helps protect the people that live there from being exposed. That being said, Inaba is definitely a Non-Mortal only town.
Now that the basics (for now) are out of the way, let’s get started on some specifics that I’ve come up with for Non-Mortals.
Witches are very powerful, and usually have the most sway in the Non-Mortal Community. In contrast, their rules are much more stricter so they can’t use their magic so freely. There are three major rules for them and all Non-Mortals by extension that are generally unspoken.
No changing the past. This one should be self-explanatory. Butterfly-effect and all.
No making someone fall in love with another person. It’s never actually love, more like an extreme fatuation. And it always blows up in the caster’s face.
No resurrection and no premeditated murder. Bringing people back from the dead is a huge taboo, and the worst rule to break. It is possible, but the Non-Mortal world has come to the conclusion that deciding who lives and dies. That being said, this rule is broken in Persona 4 (the murders, obviously) and in Persona 5 (resurrection-wise, and even then, there are only two occasions in which it’s used.)
Magic always comes with a price. Every magic user learns that right off the bat, and must never forget it. Otherwise, they’ll be forced to endure the consequences, whatever they may be. The consequence all depends on the severity of the magic used.
A werewolf’s current state all depends on how close the full moon is. The closer it is, the more wolf-like in behavior they become. They also tend to be more aggressive due to this. You can usually pick out a werewolf during the full moon period due to how tired they are, and unexplained bites and scratches causes by their transformations. That being said, Ryuji is a werewolf, and the November full moon for the P5 timeline is November 21. So... yeah.
Magic is tied to a Non-Mortal’s emotions. The more emotionally charged a person is, the more they lose control of their powers. Anger and sadness are the most volatile of all emotions. It can range from a glass breaking to someone getting badly hurt.
Non-Mortals whose cores are related to certain elements (such as ice and fire) have weaknesses related to those elements. For example, Yusuke -- who is heavily tied to ice -- can’t stand the heat and will collapse if he gets too hot. In contrast, those related to fire -- with Yukiko being the prime example for this -- can’t stand the cold and could end up in serious danger if they drop below a certain temperature. Nature-related beings (flower fae, nymphs, etc) are susceptible to both.
That’s all I really got so far. I don’t want this post to get too long, so I’ll dive into specific games and their plots and characters in different posts. Before I do though, it’s going to be a general theme that the protags are witches. Sorry, guys. Them's the breaks. I want the witch’s magic to sort of relate to the Wild Card power. There are some exception but... yeah.
So... what do you guys think? You want me to continue or...? I probably will anyway. I really like this AU.
